What is The Singletrack Series?

Our vision is simple - to race mountain bikes on real mountain bike terrain. Well actually, we decided to take it up a notch and race in the most legendary trail systems in the US. Moab and Whistler ring any bells? We know there are other people out there just like us, dreaming to go ride in iconic places, whether you want to race or just appreciate the local trails with your buddies.

The Singletrack Series was an initiative to bring a few of these iconic locations and events into a unified series. When pro rider, Stephan Davoust, reached out to a handful of pro off-road racers with his vision, we (now the Singletrack Series committee) raised our hands and got to work. Our squad of like-minded professional athletes has a goal of bringing more hype and excitement on a national level to these events. We wanted more than just a classic cross country race, and with the progression of cross country bikes heading more towards the “down country” setup, these races seemed like a perfect fit. Yes, endurance and power are key, but you’ll need a full bag of tricks for the technical terrain.

We didn’t want to stop at creating another race series, we wanted to be more involved with each event and the local community. To do this, the goal is to increase pro rider involvement throughout race weekends by hosting skills clinics for all abilities, course previews, athlete panels on relevant topics, etc. Yes, there is pro rider involvement in these areas already, but it always seems more of a “have to” than a “want to” mentality. Let’s change that!

We also wanted to give back to the local trail builders, the individuals and organizations who make all of the rad trails possible. The STS is committing proceeds from bike raffles at each race to the local trail foundations of each event/host town. And, we’re not just donating money for trails. All pro riders are getting down and dirty at each post-event Monday by digging with the local trail crew, and encourage all racers who are able to stick around to join us!
